The Larimore High School drama department is working toward opening night of “Little Shop Of Horrors”. They’ll perform April 13-15, 2012 at the Avalon Theater in Larimore. Friday and Saturday night’s shows are at 7:30, with a Sunday matinee at 2:30pm. Tickets will be available at the door: $8.00 for adults, $6.00 for students from any school, and preschoolers are free.
“Little Shop Of Horrors” follows orphan Seymour Krelborn (Caleb Behm) and his co-workers (Ashley Nelson and Zach Pulford) at a run-down flower shop in a tough, urban setting. He finds a rare and exotic plant (voiced by Kyler Renfrow with Seth Pifer, puppeteer) that may hold the key to fame and fortune for everyone, but at what cost? “Little Shop is at once a spoof of the horror films of the 1950’s, a spoof of movie musicals, and at the same time a fascinating look at our morality, and how far we’ll go to get what we want.” Director McMahon continues, “we’ve worked hard to make this a good show for all ages and families, but still maintaining the integrity of the show. From my desk, we have the opportunity to put a fantastic show on stage in a few weeks”.
